ER7 RFW

The ER7 RFW is a rail gun (or gauss rifle) capable of accelerating a ferro-magnetic projectile at ludicrous speeds, making it deadly in every aspect. The speed at which the projectile exits the barrel makes for virtually no bullet drop and instantaneous travel, making ArmA 2 look more like your regular FPS game. Due to this the spawn rate is nearly as low as a possible 1 per server restart. As with the AS50 and M107, it has a large amount of raw power, but is not capable of punching through walls or enemies (though it does go through vehicle doors and windows), due to ArmA 2 engine limitations.

This weapon has two variants: one with a red dot and one with a 4x scope. Both seem to be innaccurate, probably for balance purposes.

It is only found in Namalsk, and is treated as an "alien weapon" by the community. The model and sound effect were taken from the Gauss Rifle from Crytek's game Crysis (2008).

Trivia: Such a device is of interest for the Military and the theory behind dates to Carl Fiedrich Gauss (born 1777), who mathematically theorized a linear projectile accelerator using coils. A modern device is the Rail Gun, patented In 1919, by a french inventor named Louis Octave Fauchon-Villeplee and revived by Joachim H√ƒ¬§nsler of Germany's Ordnance Office during WW2 (yes, a nazi) in 1944. The first prototype was tested in 1962, folowing the development of a very high powered generator. Today, research continues and working full scale prototypes were developed, reaching amazing 3800m/s of muzzle velocity (for comparison, m16 bullets exit the barrel at 950m/s, AK47 ones at 750m/s and the M829A2 armor-piercing round for use in the M1 Abrams Tank gun exits at 1700 m/s). That was so much energy that the projectile spurred plasma in it's flight (the 4th matter state, with more energy than gas state). However, the guns barrels lasts for only 5 shots, which makes it use unpractical especially for infantry, but research continues, as even NASA studies the issue to propel it's shuttles into space.

Concept: Rail gun: A gun which uses two parallel rails (hence the name) of opposed current to generate a magnetic field which proppels the bullet. Gauss gun: Commonly used as to refer to an an electrical gun which uses magnetic acceleration to propel a projectile. However, Gauss theorized a linear accelerator that uses coils, the coil gun.

Note that there are two variants, one with a red dot sight and one with a scope.

It's a Gauss if I'm not mistaken.

@Psycho5553 Well the player only has 12k blood, the ER7 has a much faster fire than the M136 and is still a guaranteed one hit kill. ER7 RFW>M136 for most purposes other than destruction (vehicles, immobile helicopters, multiple tents).

Is it a Gauss Gun or a Railgun ? It seems so much louder than 180m when using it though. I found it has definite 'dinnerbell' attributes.

LoL. I hate people that says this is the best gun in-game of all dayz.... the m136 damage is 6.2 million. This crappy gun is 49k

Super over powered. Has no bullet drop, and instant travel times.

@rustydoo I think you should put it in a camping tent, and then tell one of your friends where it is. Don't carry it with you unless you have dead center aim.
